.This project started with a sticky vinyl template attached to transparent glass which was then cut out using a special ring saw which can cut intricate shapes.
Body painted with enamels in black & yellow.
Hand drawn veins added to the transparent wings using glass paints.
Some glass frits added for texture and a hint of sparkle before firing in the kiln.
A silver plated jewellery bail has been attached, with a yellow satin ribbon for hanging.
