A BIT ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Maggie and I'm based in Portstewart on the beautiful Causeway Coast, an area of outstanding natural beauty and a designated World Heritage site here in Northern Ireland.

I make unique small to medium decorative fused glass art, gifts and homewares.

My inspiration comes from nature, especially the coastal environment of my local area.

I began my glass journey over 7 years ago in Flowerfield Arts Centre in Portstewart. Previously I made ceramics and have always  dabbled in painting and drawing.

Creativity has forever been a huge part of my life, but it's only since moving to this area in 2008 that I’ve been able to fully indulge in my artistic side!

My home studio is where I design and create my pieces. I find the process totally absorbing and therapeutic, a complete contrast to my desk-based job where I work alongside my accountant husband!

When you buy something from me it will be a one-of-a-kind piece, handmade with love and a passion for what I do.

If you would like to discuss a bespoke commission or colour variation, please get in touch, I’d love to hear from you!

Maggie......  get to know me

A few of my roles are........

designer, researcher, creator, photographer, writer, editor, director, publisher, website & social media administrator, stock controller, packer, courier, bookkeeper, accounts manager and cleaner!

I wouldn't have it any other way, and when a frequent question is put to me at market,

'do you make all this yourself?',

I can, with hand on heart say

'yes I did'

and explain the whole process from start to finish if they have the time to listen!

Featured with me here is Bobby, our Jack Russell cross.

We like to unwind with her on our local walks on Portstewart strand where she can let off steam!

Hubby

Affectionately known as "the donkey"

I wouldn't be able to do what I do without the love and support of my wonderful husband Kevin.

From the early days of my artistic journey he has encouraged and given me the focus to develop from painter to ceramicist to fused glass artist.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the process to where I am today, and feel that I have now found my niche.

The name "donkey" is a term which he named himself as he my box carrier, car packer, loader and unloader of tables, props, stock and all the extras which are part & parcel of a market day!
