Rolled Edge Tree

This is an unusual creation, made with what is called the 'rolled' edges of sheet glass.
 
These are usually cut off the glass sheets when making a project, but as they are so organic and flowing, I wanted to showcase them in their own right.
 
Using different shades of green, some opaque, some streaky, some transparent all add to the uniqueness of each tree.
 
Cut to shape, each layer overlapping the one before, makes another spectrum of shades.
 
Fired in the kiln to soften and merge all together, still leaving enough texture to clearly see and feel the layers.
 
Secured into a bespoke stand made from yew wood, this will sit perfectly on a shelf or windowsill, to catch the natural light in just about any room in your home.
 
Not just a Christmas decoration, this tree can adorn your room all year round.
