Two Part 'Coral' Fused Glass Sculpture

An abstract, unique two piece colourful fused glass sculpture.
 
Each part started with layers of coloured glass powders strategically placed directly onto a kiln shelf. Marks made in the powders result in 'holes' developing when fired to high temperatures. Colours develop and blend during the firing process giving each piece a life of its own. 
 
Following cleaning, more powders are added before firing again.
 
Finally, each is placed over a mould and fired to create organic folds and drapes which give the individual 'corals' their unique look.
 
When placed together you have a stunning statement piece of fused glass art with a bright mix of orange, pimento red, yellow and green. 
 
This would make a great gift for a wedding, birthday, anniversary or engagement, especially for someone who loves the unusual or abstract art.
 
Base is approximately 30 cm diameter, top piece is approximately 27cm at widest point.
