XL Ammonite on Yew Stand

This is a stunning extra large version of the popular ammonite.
 
Thin strips of transparent glass, in clear, blue & turquoise, colours of the ocean, have been cut by hand and carefully assembled on their edges in a spiral pattern directly onto a kiln shelf.
 
Fired to a temperature which retains the wonderful texture and inserted into adjustable clips on a bespoke stand made from Yew tree wood.
 
The ammonite appears to float on this stand which in itself is a piece of art, one complimenting the other.
 
Bringing together nature from inland and the coast.
 
This would sit perfectly on a shelf, table, mantlepiece or windowsill, especially with sunlight behind it and will look stunning in any room of your home.
